Their story
Frederick I, born in Königsberg in 1657, ascended to prominence as a member of the House of Hohenzollern. Initially holding the titles of Margrave of Brandenburg, Duke of Prussia, and Prince-Elector, his reign marked a pivotal moment in the region's history. In 1701, he achieved the elevation of his ducal territory to a kingdom, becoming the first King in Prussia. This act solidified the Hohenzollern dynasty's power and laid foundational groundwork for the future Prussian state. His reign, concluding with his death in Berlin in 1713, is remembered for this significant transformation of his titles and territories.
